Central Balat ―
MTDI Group (formerly Bose International Planning and Architecture) is giving the city of Bursa, Turkey, a new experience in the heart of the city center. Central Balat is already being hailed as an urban landmark. Holding the title of the tallest structure in the city, it strikes a balance between monuments that reflect the local history and religious values, while its exceptional architectural design symbolizes the city’s steady upward trajectory.
The architectural design, construction, interior layout and vision for the future have combined beautifully to create a new concept for urban living centered on the family. Every aspect of life in a contemporary community can be hosted in the Central Balat complex. Residence, office, and shopping mall communicate in an innovative way through the flowing design, while maintaining the unique character of each distinct use. The iconic forms of the towers are a significant addition to the Bursa skyline; at night, they appear as impressive, self-illuminated sculptures. The uninterrupted panoramic views of the mountains and surrounding city areas are a unique asset for residents and office users. All the structures are organized around the Green Park – Garden that includes swimming pools, water fountains, playgrounds and selected quiet sites for the residents’ relaxation.
In the words of the designers, a project such as Central Balat is an opportunity to disrupt the neighborhood’s mediocrity and to provide new ideas, solutions, and values. The balance between the small and large scale was a challenge that was handled in the best possible way, allowing users to enjoy all of the complex’s elements in one unified, innovative, and pleasant experience. Central Balat aspires to become the new identity of Bursa.
